Principles of HA design with AIS for architects

This course provides an overview of the state-of-the art of High Availability (HA) design. It addresses primarily the application know-how related to the scope of Application Interface Specification (AIS) of the Service Availability Forum (SA Forum). Abstract problems will be addressed in a form easy to understand for practitioning engineers. An introduction is given on the main services offered by the AIS. Optionally, lab practices are offered for UML based design of AIS based applications.

This course provides an overview of creating HA applications using the service APIs defined by the Application Interface Specification (AIS) of the Service Availability Forum (SA Forum). It focuses primarily on the implementation aspects of the application development. Realistic problems will be addressed in an easily understandable form for application implementers. A deep introduction is given on the services defined by the AIS and lab practices are offered for practicing the things learned. Besides this, implementation best practices and testing methods are also introduced.
