Java development with Eclipse

This course introduces the support of Eclipse framework for developing general purpose Java applications.

Participants get an overview on the basics of Java and a knowledge on Eclipse IDE components and their use in practice. Advanced functionalities such as code refactoring and jar libraries are also discussed and participants build their own Java applications. Hand-on lab examples will illustrate basic concepts during the entire course.

Eclipse plug-in development

This course introduces the Eclipse open development framework. The audience will get an overview of the system architecture, the application development guidelines, and the most important APIs. The course also offers a hands-on lab part that helps to get used to Eclipse-based development.

Domain-specific editor development with Eclipse

This course introduces domain-specific modeling language tool development with Eclipse. The audience will get an overview of domain-specific modeling language development in general, development best practices, and Eclipse’s most important (relevant) tools. The course also offers a hands-on lab part that provides a good demonstrating example of a typical domain-specific modeling tool built on Eclipse technology.

Eclipse Rich Client Platform development

This course introduces the Eclipse Rich Client Platform. The audience will get an overview of the system architecture, the application development guidelines, and the most important APIs. The course also offers a hands-on lab part that helps to get used to Eclipse RCP-based development.

Developing workflow-driven client-server applications with Eclipse

This advanced course shows how to create flexible web applications with Eclipse RAP. The audience will get an overview of workflow-driven application design in general, and the JBoss jPBM workflow server and modeling language in particular. Participants will be shown how third-party components can be integrated into an OSGi/Eclipse-based software architecture. The course also offers a hands-on lab part that provides ready-to-use working knowledge about advanced RAP programming and client-server OSGi/Eclipse application design.
